At BitBang we believe that sustainability is an integral and necessary part of doing business. We are working towards making our operations completely sustainable — extending from the foundations of our business to the thousands of low-level decisions we make daily. As a company, we have the responsibility to take care of our employees, local ecosystem, and the planet.
These principles led us to embark on a path of sustainability several months ago, which has encouraged us to take a critical look at our choices and activities, as we try to evaluate and improve our practices.
It is not just a matter of reducing plastic use or implementing a recycling program — we have already enforced this kind of policy for a number of years (e.g., by banning the purchase of single-use plastic bottles from our office’s vending machines and installing water dispensers). We want to do more, and we want our choices to have positive repercussions at all levels, whether it be for our employees or the environment.
We have, therefore, identified 44 lines of action for our Sustainable Pathway, which cover several areas. This includes respect for the environment and its preservation, diversity, inclusivity, waste reduction, and a sense of community.
Almost half of these procedures are already underway and have begun to produce positive results. We find that they are often related to activities and approaches that have already sprung up spontaneously at BitBang, thus reflecting our employees focus on sustainability.
We share our intentions while acknowledging that our efforts are just a drop in the ocean. We do, however, feel that it is imperative to make the right choices and that a conscious BitBang is the BitBang we want to be a part of.
